This is the most iconic Harry Potter food which was sold at “The Three Broomsticks” and “The Hog’s Head”. ButterBeer can be bought outside the store, but you can make it easily at home.  This beverage flavor is similar to the taste of butterscotch and it is quick and easy to make. You can make it and drink it while watching a Harry Potter movie to make it extra special.

How to make

Take a bowl, add milk, brown sugar, and butter and whisk them together.  Heat them in the microwave for 3 minutes.  Then heat it for an additional 3 to 4 minutes after stirring until the milk is foamed. Remove it from the microwave and whisk it until the butter is well mixed making sure that the sugar is dissolved completely. 

Take the hot butterscotch topping and heat it for about 30 seconds and stir 2 tablespoons of hot butterscotch into the milk mixture until it gets dissolved completely.  Add one cup of cream soda and mix it well.  Finally, top it with hot butterscotch whipped cream and serve.

Pumpkin Juice is known to be the most popular non-alcoholic beverage in the wizarding world and it is best when it comes to the Fall season. You use real pumpkin to make this delicious drink along with apple cider, and warm and cozy spices. This is good for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, or even at special events and feasts.

How to make

Take a large pot and combine apple cider, ground cinnamon, pumpkin puree, ground ginger, peach/apricot, brown sugar, ground nutmeg, and a pinch of allspice and heat it over medium heat on the stove. The pumpkin juice should start to boil. Once it gets boiled, reduces the heat to low and simmer for 10-15 minutes. 

Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla, then allow to cool completely and chill before serving over ice or re-heating to serve warm.

How to make

First, you need to make the butterscotch sauce. Except for the vanilla extract, put all ingredients into a small, heavy pan, and cook over low-medium heat stirring frequently until the sugar has dissolved. Wait until it boils and cook for 2 minutes. Remove from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract. Set aside to cool completely, then refrigerate for several hours.

To make the colored drops, melt the red candy melts and put them into a piping bag fitted with a small circular nozzle and pipe small drops onto baking parchment. Leave to set. Do this for each color.

To make the cupcakes, Preheat the oven to 170C, and with paper cake cases line a cupcake tray.  Beat the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. Mix the eggs in a jug and add a teaspoon at a time to the creamed butter & sugar. Make sure to beat well in between. Add vanilla extract and milk then beat again. 

Sift the flour and baking powder into the bowl and until all ingredients are thoroughly combined, gently fold. Divide between the cupcake cases while filling each case around ⅔ full and bake for approximately 20 minutes. Take it out from the oven and remove it from the baking tin and allow it to cool completely on a wire rack. 

Butterbeer buttercream is made by putting the butter into a medium bowl and beating it until smooth. Sieve in 1 tablespoon of icing sugar at a time and beat well between each addition. Once it has been mixed in, beat in the vanilla extract. Spoon the butterscotch sauce into the buttercream and beat in. 

Finally, assemble and cut a small cone from the middle of each cake, fill 3 cakes with red candy drops, 3 with green, and continue with the remaining colors. Take a piping bag fitted with a suitable nozzle, and put the buttercream and pipe onto the cakes. Add your choice of decoration and serve. 

Treacle Tart

Treacle Tart is Harry Potter’s favorite dish. It is actually a traditional British pastry that is made of a Buttery and flaky crust with the filling of sweet and sticky lemon-flavored. It is called treacle because the golden syrup is also called light treacle which is thick, golden inverted sugar syrup that’s a result of refining sugar cane into sugar. And this is typically served warm and topped with clotted cream, crème Fraiche, whipped cream, or ice cream. Treacle Tart has been the love of Harry which makes him even smell it when he is near Amortentia, the most powerful love potion in the wizarding world.

How to make 

Pour the flour into a mixing bowl and work the butter with your fingers. Add water and mix it together until a ball of dough forms when pressed together. Wrap it with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes. 

Preheat the oven to 400F and lightly grease a 9” tin pan with butter and keep it aside. 5 and 1/2 oz of the dough in the refrigerator should be kept aside. The rest of the dough should be taken and roll it out into a circle around 11”. Place the circle into a prepared pan and press it gently into the edges. Prick the center with a fork to prevent it from puffing. 

Trim the edges with a knife so that you will only have a 1/2″ overhang. Place this into the refrigerator. Take the remaining pastry and roll it out on a sheet of parchment. And brush with egg wash and refrigerate. 

To a saucepan, add the golden syrup, keep over medium-low heat, and heat it until it gets warm. Stir in the breadcrumbs, lemon juice, and zest and pour the mixture into the prepared pan, and spread evenly. Cut ½ strip out of the reserved rolled-out dough and start making a woven lattice.

Any excess should be trimmed off and pressed gently to the edge of the pan and wash the edges. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and the filling has set. Remove the tart from the pan and serve warm or cold.

In the Harry Potter movie, the poly juice potion punch is whipped up and they would turn into other people. Although it is not going to happen in real life, this food will actually be cool to taste. This is a green, fizzy and tasty one that will take your party to the next level. You can feel free to use different coloring of your choice and it is best to go natural by using mango powder, turmeric, beetroot, blue Spirulina, and more. 

It tastes best when you serve it cold and in a tall glass and you can also make small shots of the Polyjuice potion as a welcome drink for your party. Unlike the original potion that takes a month to make, this one comes together in under 5 minutes.

These candy confections are easy to make in your own home using Dark chocolate melting wafers and they are filled with a smooth, creamy, peanut butter filling.

How to make 

Take a stiff baking sheet and place mold onto it. Heat melting wafers in 30-second increments in a small microwave-safe bowl until wafers are melted and get smooth. To each frog mold, add a spoonful of melted chocolate

If needed, add a second coat to the sides of your mold, filling in any holes or thin areas, and then transfer to the refrigerator for 10 minutes to harden.

To a bowl, add peanut butter and confectioner’s sugar. Stir until combined and the mixture will be thick, like a dough. For a sweeter filling, add more sugar as desired. Remove mold from refrigerator.

Distribute peanut butter filling evenly between your frogs while patting down into an even layer and leave about ⅛” of space at the top of your mold to fill in with chocolate. With the remaining chocolate, top each frog and spread it into an even layer. Return the tray to the refrigerator and allow it to chill for 20 minutes. Remove frogs from molds. Store in a sealed container at room temperature.
