History of Kombucha
2000 years ago, Kombucha was originated in China during the Qin dynasty around 200 BCE. At that time, both tea and fermentation were popular in China. Around 414 AD, a Korean doctor named Dr. Kombu visited Japan and he brought the beverage to the Japanese Emperor Inyoko. The emperor got really impressed with the drink and named it after the doctor himself. In Japan the term ‘Cha’ means tea and so the drink was named by adding the term cha to the doctor’s name and was called ‘Kombucha’.
In 1913, in a rural area of Germany, a virus broke out. When researchers went to the village to find out a cure they found that the villagers had immunity. The villagers drank homemade Kombucha and this became a remedy preventing the villagers safe. By 1917, the Kombucha drink reached more countries like America. This was used by the native medicine men of Siberia and Manchuria as a cure for the diseases of old age.
Is Kombucha really the best alternative to alcohol?

But if you find a hard Kombucha which is an alcohol-rich version goes through a long process of fermentation and seems similar to the alcohol levels of beer and wine. But this extra alcohol has the possibility of killing some or all the bacteria and so health benefits will be less. As it is a low-calorie, low sugar alternative, it is considered to be healthy.
