Taste

The first thing we consider when considering coffee VS tea is their taste.

No matter how healthy a beverage is, if you hate the taste you won’t consume it. The color, flavor, and feel decides the beverage you love. But when it comes to tea, there are varieties of flavors depending on where it has grown. They are black tea, green tea, white tea, and oolong tea while some are herbal and do not come from actual plants. The white tea has a delicate taste, which is sweet, green tea has a vegetal and grassy taste, while black and oolong tea has flavors from earthy and nutty to sweet and honey.

It is hard to say which is better based on the taste as it depends on your choice of flavor. Mostly tea seems to be a favorite because of its variety in flavors and people who prefer rich, malty, and strong flavors can go with coffee.

The content of caffeine

Caffeine content plays an important role in both coffee and tea because it helps us to stay focused and alert while improving memory and mental functioning. It also helps to speed up the reaction time. Simply it helps in triggering relaxation. To start off the day or to power after a long time, caffeine will help you.

When comparing both drinks, coffee has more caffeine than tea. Coffee is made at high temperatures that allow more caffeine to release from coffee beans, while tea is made at low temperatures and so all the caffeine is not released from its leaves. Coffee has two to three times more caffeine than similar-sized black tea. Make sure not to consume too much caffeine, because more than 4 to 5 cups of coffee a day can cause Insomnia, anxiety, diarrhea, nausea, and elevated heart rate.

Although tea has low caffeine than coffee, it has other compounds that will boost focus and attention. Many contain amino acids called L-theanine which helps in increasing alertness and helps in delivering smooth energy, which means you get an extra boost in tea. It is found that a combination of L-theanine and caffeine do better in attention more than consuming caffeine alone.

Through this comparison, coffee takes the first place when it comes to the content of coffee but tea boosts the energy which is more relaxed and has few side effects.
