If so, the answer is no. There is a different process for broasted chicken. Most people think that roasting is a normal cooking process, but the true fact is it is actually a method developed by the Broaster company. The real broasted chicken can be found only in places like the commercial kitchen that uses pressure fryers from the Broaster company. It is a cooking method that uses high heat and pressure to cook the chicken.

When it comes to chicken, you would wonder about a healthier option, and think whether the broasted chicken is a good choice. So is broasted chicken really healthy? The answer to this depends on how often you eat the chicken and the foods you eat along with the broasted chicken.

Although Broasted chicken is a fried method, there is a big difference between frying the chicken and broasting chicken. It is the cooking process in an enclosed environment. This prevents the oil from leaking out and the chicken juice will remain complete. You will get the delicious and moist chicken when the chicken gets marinated properly and the seasonings are added.

What is the difference between fried chicken and broasted chicken?

It would be unbelievable to find the difference when you taste traditional fried chicken and chicken that has been broasted. The broasted chicken recipes will be more flavorful, and juicier, and will give an all-around taste of food. The surprising fact is that not every restaurant can deliver this quality.

Fried chicken

fried chicken

Most probably every one of us would have had fried chicken at some point, while some would often have them. Fried chicken is a delicious meal and when you taste it you will feel a seasoned crunchy flavor. But the process of making the frying chicken and the broasted chicken is where the difference is.

To make fried chicken, you need to first season the chicken and roll it in a batter. Then you flour it and fry it in a pan with oil or cook it in a deep fryer until the outside part gets crispy.

Although this is really a tastier dish, the problem is that it is really unhealthy and it gets ruined easily. The skin part of the chicken is high in sodium and when you cook it in the oil, the oil soaks the sodium-rich skin and gets down to the meat. This will increase the fat content of the chicken and you will actually get to eat the dry meat if it is overcooked. All the succulent juices will be cooked off in the frying process and this is how you get the well-cooked delicious chicken.

Broasted chicken

Although we love fried chicken, there is another way you can get the crunchy texture outside and makes sure that the inside has the moistness and makes the swoon. It is the broasted chicken. The cooking process begins in a similar way to fried chicken but has a few more steps than frying. It is seasoned, rolled in batter, and then flour. Then you deep fry the chicken for a minute in a high-pressure cooker to seal in the juices and to keep the breading intact. Once deep-fried, the lid of the high-pressure cooker is closed to make sure that all the moisture is inside the chicken, and is not cooked off.

As the outside is sealed at the beginning stage, only less oil penetrates the meat of chicken, while maintaining a satisfying crispy shell. As only less oil is penetrated, it has fewer calories.

Is broasted chicken healthy?

It is rich in protein and low in fat and calories. This makes it a healthier option, especially when you eat it at a moderate level. Although the process is similar, the broasted meat is far healthier. The chicken has few calories and 40 to 70 percent fat which is less than traditional deep frying. Fried chicken needs 1 and ½ cups of oil to fry, while broasted chicken needs only ¼ cups of oil.

Different people prefer different parts of the chicken. And the nutritional information differs depending on the part you prefer to eat, whether it is the breast or the wings. Moreover, broasted chicken is an incredible source of protein with zero grams of trans fat. One of the most popular parts of chicken people prefer to eat is the breast. When the chicken is broasted, it contains a hearty 43 grams of protein per piece and the smaller cuts are protein-packed at 14 to 24 grams from the wing to the thigh. The carbs come in 6 grams or less per piece with the leg having the least amount of carbs at only 2 grams.

The calorie content varies widely per piece because of the size of each chicken. And based on the size, the broasted chicken calories are distributed, where the thigh has 298 cal, the breast has 329 cal, the wing has 169 cal, and the leg has 160 cal.

If you prefer to eat the breast part, it is better you would eat one piece per serving as it is a large piece of meat, while the small cuts like legs or wings can be eaten with two or three pieces.  With both the breast and wings, the fat content is in similar quantities at 11 grams per piece. The breast doesn’t contain any additional fat although it is larger because it is mostly composed of low-fat white meat. But the thigh is a fattier cut of chicken and has 17 grams of fat per piece, but this additional fat is the juicier piece of the meat.

Benefits of eating broasted chicken

The benefit of eating broasted chicken is the process consists of low oil consumption. The pressurized method used to cook the meal prevents the chicken from absorbing the excess oil and improves the taste due to the natural chicken juice.

The less absorbed oil leaves more oil in the brochure for the next batch and so process waste less oil is used. The pressurized fryer creates a balanced cooking environment that is free of hot spots, so the chicken is able to cook more evenly and each bite of the chicken is juicy and tastier.
