Emma Watson in full known as Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson. She was born on April 15, 1990, in Paris, France. She is the daughter of Jacqueline Luesby and Chris Watson who are both English Lawyers. She has a younger brother Alex who was born 3 years later. Until she was five years old, Emma Watson lived in Paris but then her parents separated and so she had to move to England to live with her mother in Oxfordshire and spend weekends at her father’s house in London. 

After the divorce, both her mother and father remarried, and her brothers were born in their new marriage. She was the oldest of seven children. She has two half-maternal brothers and three half-brothers from her father’s new marriage.

Her education

She went to school at the Dragon School in Oxford, where she studied until 2003. It was at the age of six, she decided that she wanted to be an actress. So as a part-time theater school, she was educated at the Stagecoach Theater Arts in Oxford. There she studied singing, dancing and performance. 

Emma Watson also participated in various plays at her school, including The Happy Prince,  Arthur: The Young Years, and Alice in Wonderland. When Emma Watson was only seven years old. She participated in The Daily Poetry Competition and won first prize. 

Her career at the age of nine 

Emma Watson having previously participated only in school plays, was suggested by her theater teachers to the agents who were looking to cast an upcoming movie based on the first novel of the best-selling Harry Potter series. She auditioned eight times for the role and Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling was deeply involved in the film process to make sure it stayed true to the book, so she thought that Emma Watson would be suitable for the project.

This was Watson’s film debut and it became an enormous success where in the United States Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone earned a record-breaking $33.3 million on its opening day.
